The UK Equipment Hire Company, Hewden Stuart , has been picked up on the cheap for £110 million by Sun European Partners.
The private equity group is an expert in business turnarounds and obviously sees Hewden as a real snip at this price. Hewden was sold by the Canadian Company ‘Finning International.’
Finning actually paid £322 million for Hewden Stuart over a decade ago. However they broke up the company and sold off Hewden Tools to Speedy hire in 2007.
Hewden mainly deals with the construction and equipment sector as opposed to the public. The company has 1,300 staff at 63 locations throughout the UK.
